It’s time to unwind with this unplugged production of back-to-back hits! On January 19th, Rick Springfield and Richard Marx will share the stage at Foxwoods' MGM Grand Theater to deliver a performance that will take you back to the era of neon, mullets, and cassette tapes.
For the entire month of January, these two icons are set to co-headline a brief but exciting ten-concert tour titled An Acoustic Evening. During this trek, the duo will make several stops in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey before concluding at the Shubert Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts.
Mastering the genres of pop and rock, Springfield is recognized for smash hits "Jessie’s Girl," “Affair of the Heart,” and “Speak to the Sky.” On top of this, he's also an accomplished actor with an impressive portfolio featuring roles in "General Hospital," "True Detective," "Supernatural," and other TV shows. His latest work is the 2023 album Automatic, which Forbes praised as a “dynamic-sounding collection” that incorporates contemporary elements like EDM.
On the other hand, Marx is a fellow Grammy-winning artist whose best works include tracks like “Don’t Mean Nothing,” “Hazard,” and “Right Here Waiting.” In addition, he has worked on great projects like co-writing “Dance With My Father” with Luther Vandross and collaborating with NSYNC to pen the emotional “This I Promise You.” His thirteenth studio album, Songwriter, was released in 2022 with its first single peaking at the 15th spot on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.
When discussing the topic of his released memoir, Stories To Tell, the Chicago native comments that “the impetus and the origin of the book really started years ago as a sort of fantasy… I don’t have a lot of stories about the writing of the songs, but I have countless interesting and funny stories surrounding the making or recording of songs in the studio.”
